Roll Your Body Like Sister Kate

Yamuna_2I am feeling SO MUCH BETTER THESE DAYS! I’m just now finishing week one, free of pain and free of narcotic painkillers. My great doctor at the Callen-Lorde Community Health Center (The GLBTQ health clinic in New York City) has put me on a terrific regimen of meds, and now I’m free to get my body into better shape, and that brought me to Yamuna Body Rolling. That’s Yamuna in the picture to the left, holding the red ball.

Well, actualy, it was Dr. Mona Lisa Shulz, a medical intuitive, who directed me to Yamuna’s particular brand of rolling around on a ball, giving yourself a deep tissue massage. It’s giving yourself a deep tissue massage on each muscle, from one end to the other, bone to bone as it were. There’s a much lovlier explanation at Yaumuna’s website. And that’s where you can find a practitioner or teacher near you, or you can buy books, DVDs, CDs, and those marvelous balls of hers.

I’m all tickled to say that I now blog for the Huffington Post. Yup, I’m their official gender blogger. So, that’s where I’ll be posting blogs about gender theory, politics, philosophy, and spirituality. This blog you’re now reading is going to remain dedicated mostly to how you can expand your use of my book, Hello, Cruel World. For example, Yamuna’s work goes great with Alternative #2: Take a deep breath and touch yourself. Dr. Mona Lisa Shulz’s work was a fine fit for me for Alternative #15: Run a diagnostic program.

OK, I’m off to London for the weekend of June 14-16, to participate in Transfabulous 07, the HUGE tranny element of London’s Pride Celebration. Transfabulous, for me, is how I plan to use Alternative #48: Find your tribe. Why so much focus in this particular post on alternatives to suicide? Well I used a helluva lot of them to keep myself going during my three months of severe pain and nearly non-stop narcotic painkillers (they’re not at all fun when ya keep on using ’em). And now, I’m using the alternatives to help my li’l ol’ body recover.

If you’re in London for Transfab, please come up to me and say hello!

    PS
Thank you so much for bringing Jill Sobule’s “Supermodel” back in my head!!!

  2. how *can* you do it oh so nice?
i’m wondering if you know, though, if there’s a way to syndicate just your posts on the… post? because i most certainly don’t have time to read all of the posts, but i’m having trouble figuring out a feed url for just yours. any thoughts?

  3. Syndicating posts? hmmm… dunno about that. There *is* something called “subscribe to this blog’s feed” over on the left hand side of this page, in red. Try pushing that li’l link and see what happens. xoxo kate
